Promozione e valorizzazione culturale e scientifica del patrimonio archeologico nel territorio del Polesine (provincia di Rovigo)

Abstract

The Teknehub Laboratory (University of Ferrara), Area 2, stipulated a Memorandum of Understanding with the local authorities responsible for archaeology in the Veneto region about the accomplishment of a research work in cultural and scientific promotion and estimation of the Archaeological Heritage in the Polesine area (near the city of Rovigo). The research mainly focused on: - The implementation of a signage system along the Via Popilia, where ancient trails and archaeological finds are signposted and referenced to existing museums. Thanks to this action, a larger number of visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy the features of the archaeological heritage of this area and its sites. - The appreciation of the archaeological site of San Basilio (Ariano nel Polesine), an ancient settlement which dates back to the VI century BC. The archaeological finds are preserved in the Centro Turistico Culturale, an organisation which carries out innovative concepts for visiting the archaeological site and implements a new idea of museum communication. - The definition of a new reconstructive archaeological site in Frattesina, where finds are exposed in the Museo Archeologico Nazionale. In Fratta Polesine, the are currently no archaeological sites that can be visited, so the idea of building one would be interesting both in terms of enhancing the number of visitors to the museum itself, and for the development of a new concept of educational exhibition
