Abstract

This will be a 15 min PowerPoint presentation with 5mins for questions. Presentation defines Dyspraxia and challenges negative medical model label using Paulo Freire. Identifies what dyspraxia is, other labels used for dyspraxia, co-morbidity with dyslexia, ADD, Asperger’s Syndrome and Tourette’s Syndrome. Other names for Neurodiversity, the Great Pigeon Hole Debate, Definitions of ND, Individual ND conditions and their benefits. ND & Mental Health, ND & the Prison Service The Evils of Labelling. Famous people with ND. Individual experiences. \ud \ud \ud Janet Taylor is a disabled student and community activist who lives with dyspraxia & dyslexia in Manchester who founded the user led Self Help Group Greater Manchester Dyspraxia Adult Action.
