Prophylaxis and treatment of NSAID-induced gastroduodenal disorders

Abstract

NSAID cause gastrointestinal damage by 2 independent way. Prevalence of gastropathy and ulceration has been reported. Among the strategies used to decrease the risk are: use of analgesic, use of COX-2 selective NSAID, use of low doses of corticosteroids instead of NSAIDs, avoidance of concomitant use of NSAIDs and CS and use of preventive therapy
