Queue Management Project: User and Programme Documentation.

Abstract

This document is intended for use by individuals who wish to use the Traffic model developed on the Sun386i workstation. The model is an extension of that developed by D.J.G. Ford on the IBM PC. The first section deals with an outline discussion of the traffic flow theory used in the model. The second section demonstrates how to define a model for input into the program. The third section clarifies the arrangement of the graphics output on the screen. The next section explains some of the internal assumptions used in the model. The following section explains the form and content of the logging information collected by the model. The remaining two sections constitute a general discussion on the model, namely its restrictions and possible enhancements. Other documentation which may be useful include: o Outline Specification for a Queue Management Computer Model, S.D. Clark, 07/11/90; o A Graphical Model to Illustrate Queue Management Techniques at Signalised Junctions within Saturated Traffic Networks, D.J.G. Ford
