The main aspects of the design of the silicone-fluid devices to be incorporated in
the base isolation system of two full-scale frames, which will be tested at the ELSA Laboratory
(Ispra), are illustrated in this paper. The analysis is developed by a general design procedure
consisting in a preliminary design phase of the spring-damper elements, and a final verification
aimed at assessing the correlation between the obtained response and the required performance.
Preliminarily to the future test campaign, the numerical enquiry carried out for the two frames
shows the procedure convergence, and validates relevant design parameter choices
