International audienceA foundation inscription from the ruins of the monastery Aghia Moni near Lidoriki (Phocis) provides much useful information. Dated precisely in 1198, the inscription mentions the emperor Alexius III Angelus, the patriarch George Xiphilinus as well as a formerly unknown metropolitan, probably of Larissa, named Nicholas Mouzalon, and attests to the stauropegiac status of the monastery at a time when this privilege was fiercely debated. The parallel of an inscription from the nearby monastery of Varnakova suggests a similar history for both establishments, demonstrating the vitality of monasticism in the region at the end of the 12th century.Une inscription de fondation trouvée jadis dans les ruines du monastère d'Aghia Moni près de Lidoriki (Phocide) et dont l'étude est ici reprise fournit plusieurs informations d'intérêt. Datée précisément de septembre 1198, elle mentionne l'empereur Alexis III Ange et le patriarche Georges Xiphilin, révèle un métropolite sans doute de Larissa inconnu jusqu'alors, Nicolas Mouzalôn, et atteste le statut stavropégiaque du monastère à une époque où ce privilège faisait l'objet de vifs débats.
