Understanding quality from a user perspective

By A. Niroshan Siriwardena

Abstract

Patient articles in professional journals used to be seen\ud as an invasion of territory. Now patients are invited to\ud contribute. We need to share each others’ space if we are\ud to understand one another. So writes Mitzi Blennerhassett, one of the contributors.\ud This is the first in a series of special issues of Quality\ud in Primary Care that we plan to publish as a regular\ud feature. As well as this issue on the ‘Patient Perspectives\ud on Quality in Primary Care’ we are also planning\ud an issue on ‘Commissioning for Quality Improvement’\ud later this year and next year the ‘Development of\ud Nursing Practice and Scope’, ‘Professional Regulation’\ud and finally ‘Organisational and Educational Interventions\ud for Quality Improvement’
