Local OCA leader takes on 19 books

Abstract

Dorothy Oak, a citizen of Bend, challenged 19 books about homosexuality in the Bend High School and Deschutes County Libraries. June Bonkosky of Bend challenged a slang dictionary in a separate complaint. Both individuals are affiliated with the Oregon Citizen\u27s Alliance, a group who sponsored Ballot Measure 9 which would prevent the state from guaranteeing civil rights protections to homosexual individuals
