Résonances en espace-temps et ondes confinées.

Abstract

This thesis focuses on long-time existence and long-time dynamics for the solutions of some bidimensional wave equations where one direction is trapped, either by the geometry of the problem (if we take a wave equation on RxT) or by a harmonic potential in one direction. After presenting the methods used in the harmonic analysis of dispersive equations (with a special focus on the so-called space-time resonances method), we start by studying the wave equation with a mass on RxT (i.e. Klein-Gordon's equation) in order to prove a long-time existence and uniqueness theorem: it will allow us to explain in detail the methods used for an anisotropic problem. Then we establish a long-time existence and uniqueness theorem for the wave equation on R2 with a harmonic potential in one direction. Finally we approximate the long-time dynamics of this equation by a resonant equation: we derive this system, prove a long-time existence theorem and a L2 approximation theorem.
