Um estudo psicogenetico sobre as representações de escola em crianças e adolescentes

Abstract

Resumo: Esta pesquisa, fundamentada na Epistemologia Genética de Jean Piaget, caracteriza-se como um estudo evolutivo no âmbito do conhecimento social. Seu objetivo central consistiu em investigar as representações de escola, elaboradas por crianças e adolescentes, bem como se essas representações evoluem com a idade e se são influenciadas pelo nível socieconômico a que os sujeitos pertencem. Participaram deste estudo 80 sujeitos, de ambos os sexos, escolarizados, na faixa etária entre 7 e 15 anos, pertencentes aos níveis socioeconômicos baixo e alto, residentes na cidade de Americana – SP. A metodologia de investigação adotada foi o Método Clínico Crítico e os aspectos considerados no estudo referiram-se ao caráter institucional da escola, ou seja, como os sujeitos compreendem a origem da escola, seu objetivo educacional e as funções das pessoas que a constituem. Os resultados demonstraram a existência de uma evolução nas representações sobre a noção de escola, uma vez que os dados indicam haver uma associação positiva entre as idades e as representações dos sujeitos; porém, quanto aos níveis socioeconômicos, tal associação não foi confirmada. Este resultado pode ser interpretado não apenas como um enriquecimento nas informações dos sujeitos, mas como um processo de mudança conceitual, podendo ser explicado dentro de uma perspectiva construtivista como resultante das experiências de que os sujeitos participam e pelo desenvolvimento alcançado por suas estruturas intelectuais.Abstract: This investigation, founded in the Genetic Epistemology of Jean Piaget, ischaracterized by a developing study on the extent of social knowledge. Its main objective consisted of investigating the representations of schools prepared by children and adolescents, such as if these representations evolve with age and if they are influenced by socioeconomic level of which they belong to. Eighty individuals participated in this study, from both sexes, school goers, between the ages of 7 and 15 years old, belonging to low and high socioeconomic levels and residents in the town of Americana –SP. The method of investigation used was the Critical Clinic Method and the aspects considered in the study, refer to the institutional character of the school, id est, how the individuals understand the origin of the school, its educational objective and the functions of the people of which it constitutes. The results show an existence of an evolution in the representations regarding the notion of school, once the facts indicate that there is a positive association to the socioeconomic levels this association was not confirmed. This conclusion can be interpreted not just as further understanding of the information of the individuals, but like a process of changing concepts, can be explained within a constructive perspective as a result of the experiences in which the individuals participate and by the development obtained by their intellectual structures
