Toponyms in the microregion of Milevsko

Abstract

This thesis is dealing with place names of selected villages in the microregion of Milevsko and neighboring village called Křenovice in the former distric Písek. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part contains theoretical knowledge from onomastics (related to) toponymy, i.e. the study of place names, their origins, meanings and use. The second part applies theoretical knowledge to the local names of Milevsko microregion. It provides a brief statistical data, explains the origins of names of selected villages and their history, etc. It also describes local names, i.e. names of fields, meadows, forests, roads, etc in the area of Křenovice. The thesis as a whole is a contribution to the toponymy in the microregion of Milevsko
