Abstract

The grammatical gender variants of German substantivs. A case study using the examples of Biskuit, Keks, Marzipan and Nougat corroborated by corpus. This thesis focuses on the newest trends in development of morphological system of German nouns. The author analyses four substantivs Biskuit, Keks, Marzipan and Nougat on the basis of DeReKo. The attention is drawn to the regional and semantic distribution of this variants. Furthermore, the thesis deals with etymology of the loan words. The results of the corpus analysis are compared with data in certain dictionaries. The theoretical part relates to the methods of corpus linguistic and stress out the advantages of work with the corpus. The practical part includes the analysis of above mentioned substantivs
