Ethics by Philo of Alexandria

The bachelor thesis deals with doctrine by Philo of Alexandria. The first part describes about life of Philo and city Alexandria during his life. Also there is a mention about the authors who he admires most. Next it explains character of his writings, what other authors said about it and its importance for future generations. In the second part there is a description of virtue in general and one of the cardinal virtue - wisdom. It mentions extracts of Philo's writings, which are related to wisdom and how Philo comprehend it. All his writings coincide that wisdom is very important virtue and it is gift from God, which we should appreciate. In the last part there is a chapter about sins against wisdom, which we could have committed. In conclusion, there is a statement about that important thing is to find in all the golden mean
