By 1773-1841 William Henry Harrison

Harrison reports on the performance of those contracted to supply the army in Ohio, especially Orr & Greely, who failed completely to supply the troops. He recommends General William C. Schank be appointed purchasing commissary for the area; Lieutenant Colonel Butler, 28th Regiment, be appointed to the Inspectors Department; and Major Butler, currently assistant adjutant general, be appointed adjutant general. He asks that Lieutenant Colonel Ball of the Dragoons and Major Wood of the Engineers head any new regiment of rifles that might be created. And, he informs Armstrong that Colonel Bartlett, quarter master general at Detroit, died at New Orleans and he asks that Captain Benjamin Gardiner, currently assistant deputy quarter master general, be promoted to deputy quarter master general.Armstrong, John, 1758-1843One page is blank
