Abstract

By the early 1950s, the Indianapolis Water Company planned to vacate the offices on the Circle and build an operations center outside of downtown. A sledgehammer ceremony occurred in January 1958, marking the demolition of both the IWC's home and the American Central Life Insurance Building. [1955
