Abstract

George Ade was a humorist, author, playwright, and newspaper columnist. After graduating from Purdue in 1887 he worked as a journalist in Lafayette before taking a job at the Chicago Daily News. His daily column was titled: Stories of the Streets and of the Town. In the early 1900s he became the first author to have 3 plays running on Broadway at the same time. He is best known for his book Fables in Slang.Ade is shown wearing a light colored three piece suit with a dark tie.
