Tom Parkinson and His Grand Champion Chester White Barrow at the 1941 Indiana State Fair

Abstract

Tom Parkinson from Francesville, Indiana, in Pulaski County is here with his Chester White barrow that won the Grand Championship over all breeds in the Open Show at the 1941 State Fair. His pig sold for $1 a pound on September 2, 1941. Tom, a former 4-H Club boy began his herd as a result of his club work and graduated from Purdue in 1938
