Mr. Dua for the Stewart Talking Machine Company

By Charles F. Bretzman

Abstract

Octave Dua had his photograph taken for the Stewart Talking Machine Company while he was in Indianapolis in 1916. Mr. Dua was a Belgian operatic tenor and was singing for the Chicago Opera at that time. The Stewart Talking Machine Company in Indianapolis was located at 110 N. Pennsylvania Street. The company sold Victrolas and Victor Records. It is assumed that Mr. Dua was in town to promote a recording and had his photograph taken while here. The title was taken from the Bretzman Customer Cards. This image is a preservation copy made from an unstable original nitrate negative. The image is part of Series III
