Abstract

Built in the 1840s, this house served as the residence for three generations of the prominent Brookville family, the Goodwins. They were descendents of Samuel Goodwin, who came to Brookville in 1816 and was known as the father of Methodism in the town. He was an early supporter of Indiana Asbury (later DePauw) University.
