Lyman Ayres at Glendale Mall Groundbreaking

Abstract

Under the leadership of the third generation, the company gained additional frontage on Meridian Street, and also expanded in scope. Ayres agreed to be an anchor store in the first shopping mall in Indianapolis, Glendale. Groundbreaking was held in 1956, and the mall opened in 1958. Ayres Glendale store was a major profit center until it closed in 2006. Left to right: Lyman S.
