Ball Stores

Abstract

Extensive remodeling of the store provided jobs to some 150 men in Depression-ridden Muncie. The store was given a new name—Ball Stores, Inc. An open house was held for the grand reopening in November 1934. A crowd of 50,000 came as guests to see the new store, with no sales to be made until the next day. Clerks from the old McNaughton store were back to work in the new store’s 23 units.Use of this image is restricted to projects related to Destination Indiana.
