Abstract: This project examines the political party Venstres immigrations policy in 1989 and 2015. The aim of this project is to explore how categorization of foreigners take place in the two policies. The increased migration around the world has made the topic of immigration more and more influential on political agenda over the past 30 years in Denmark. Furthermore the project examines how different social categories are expressed and are given a certain values, in the two periods of time. Venstre was founded in 1870 and is today one of Denmark's biggest party´s. The party brands themselves on being Denmark's Liberal Party, even though their immigrations policies and categorization of foreigners have been criticized for being anti-liberal. The two immigration policies are both significant turning point of Venstres political history. The policies has caused much disturbance between members of Venstre and in the public. The project seeks to conclude how Venstre categorization of foreigners has changed in the two periods, and what consequences it has the for the danish society
