Abstract

This paper will examine how the definition of extraversion and introversion - according to the Five-Factor model - has any influence on job performance, and discusses whether this model is fit to define this personality trait. In order to set this into perspective this paper will include aspects of social psychology which will enlighten the social entities of job performance. This paper includes an meta-analysis which examines the correlation between personality traits and job performance. The project will use Popper’s theory of falsification in order to answer whether or not the five-factor model is falsifiable and therefore scientific. Furthermore the project will include an overview of the influence genetics has on our personality traits. The project uses a comparative analysis of social psychology and personal psychology, and discusses the use of the Five-Factor model in general
