Mandlige pædagoger som krænkere, ofre og ressource - en kritisk diskursanalyse af pressens skildring

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to explore the present discourses about male pre-schools teachers in the Danish nationwide press, what they are an expression of and how affect the male preschools teachers. On the basis of reading and text analysing 302 news articles and 8 qualitative interviews with 11 male pre-school teachers to find out how they felt about it. We used Norman Faircough’s critical discourse. First a text analysis to located the discourses in the news articles.. Then find the discursive practices to find out how the male pre-school react to the discourses. Adding a gender perspective we add R.W. Connell’s theory of hegemonic masculinity. The study concludes that the discourses have a great impact on the pre-school teachers behavior as professionals. It is an expressions of a sexualisation of the public sphere and the body
