Individiets rekrutteringsproces i bander

By Niklas Lind and Sepehr Ahmad

This project is about how individuals are prevented from joining gangs through political science and why some people with a different ethnicity than Danish chooses to join a gang. We have studied, with the help from sociological theories prepared by sociologist Axel Honneth and Erving Goffman what social circumstances that are crucial for an individual’s choice of joining a gang. In this project, we have explained the meaning of public safety, Gangs on Ydre Nørrebro, how the gangs rose up, and what the municipality do to prevent young people from joining gangs. We have also analyzed a biography of a former gang member and through the theories of recognition and stigma, so we can get a sociologically explanation to why some individuals choose to join a gang. We have then summed the results from our studies, and thereby written a conclusion of our project
