Benefit Tourism

This project describes how benefit tourism was articulated among politicians in the public debate. At first this project describes the economic part of benefit tourism, and how experts looks at the concept of benefit tourism, as well as an analyze if benefit tourism is a loss or a gain for the Danish society. In this part of the project the main expert used is Bent Greve. The second part of the project analyzes, with the use of Molins model, why politicians still sees benefit tourism as a bad thing, even though experts and economists says the opposite. The last part of the project will use the theory about different welfare models, by Gøsta Esping-Andersen, to discuss if Benefit tourist comes to Denmark for the Danish welfare or job opportunities. The project will eventually conclude if the politicians talk negatively about benefit tourism because they want into government or based on experts
