Local and introduced shallot strains 'Chia-Yi'、'Fu-Chen'、'Philippine' and 'Thailand' were used to study the influences of shoot apex size for producing virus-free seedlings. When shoot apex culture with size of 250、500 and 750 μm, the apexes of 250 μm had the lowest average number of regenerated shoots、percentage of regenerating shoots and survival percentage of regenerating explants. But that of 250 μm had higher virus-free rate.分蔥〝佳里〞、〝學甲〞、〝福建〞、〝菲律賓〞及〝泰國〞品系(品種)以250、500及750μm不同莖頂大小培養,進行無病毒植株之培育,250μm之分蔥莖頂所得之平均芽數、長芽率及培植體存活率較低,但獲得無病毒植株之百分比較高,750μm之分蔥莖頂所得之平均芽數最高,但獲得無病毒植株之百分比最低
