Evaluation of the checkup results of blood biochemistry and hepatitis B virus markers for the university freshmen

Abstract

為瞭解目前我國年輕族群的健康狀況,本文利用中部某大學新生2003至2011年間生化和血清的檢驗資料,分析探討血中AST、ALT、膽固醇、三酸甘油酯、尿酸、肌酸酐及B型肝炎表面抗原、B型肝炎E抗原及B型肝炎表面抗體的平均數值及異常率。結果顯示,全體學生的AST、ALT、三酸甘油酯及肌酐酸等的存在狀況大致正常,惟女學生的健康情形優於男學生。學生的膽固醇指數總平均高達170 mg/dL,而異常者的比率平均約14%,比全國人民的異常比率(10.9%)還高。男學生的尿酸指數平均為7.1 mg/dL,遠高於女學生之5.1 mg/dL,且接近7.2 mg/dL之上限值,致使其尿酸異常者比率大於20%。整體而言,女學生的健康情形優於男學生。 另外在B型肝炎血清標記方面,政府在1984年全面實施B型肝炎疫苗接種,在接種疫苗的15到20年之後,B型肝炎病毒表面抗原陽性率都降到1%以下,疫苗成效顯著,但也發現有超過50%的人其B型肝炎病毒表面抗體效價逐漸消失,降到10 mIU/ml以下。To understand the health condition of the youth, this research collected the check-up results of the freshman of a university in middle Taiwan from 2003 to 2011 to analyze and evaluate the biochemical values of AST, ALT, total cholesterol, triglyceride, uric acid, creatinine, HBsAg, HBeAg, and Anti-HBs. Results indicate that the tested values of AST, ALT, triglyceride, and creatinine of all the students present in good conditions, while the female students exhibit a better health condition than that of the male students. The average total cholesterol value of the students is around 170 mg/dL. Consequently, the abnormality rate for the students is around 14%, which is obviously higher than that (10.9%) of all population. For the uric acid, the male students have average value of 7.1 mg/dL, much higher than that (5.1 mg/dL) of the female students. The value of 7.1 mg/dL is equivalent to the upper limit value of 7.2 mg/dL, leading to the fact that the abnormality rate of the male students exceeds 20%. Thus, in general, the health of female students is superior to the male students. In addition in about the hepatitis B virus markers. A universal vaccination program to hepatitis B virus infection has been launched in Taiwan since 1984, Fifteen to twenty years after initiation of vaccination. The positive rate of of hepatitis B virus surface antigen drop to Smaller than 1%. The vaccine effect is apparent.But, more than 50% of person its hepatitis B virus surface antibody result titer fade.
