Measurement and QCD analysis of inclusive dijet mass cross section in pp collisions at ?s=1,96 TeV.

Abstract

The thesis concerns with the measurements of the jet transverse momentum resolution using the dijet pT imbalance. The results serve as an input for determination of the dijet mass resolution and for unfolding the detector smearing from the measured dijet mass cross section. It is also used in other DO analyses, like in the measurement of inclusive jet pT cross section. The method does not require a full Monte Carlo simulation of the DO detector. The measured resolution can be therefore used to test the correspondence between the detector simulations and data. This analysis shows that there is a significant discrepancy between current MC resolution and resolution in data.Available from STL Prague, CZ / NTK - National Technical LibrarySIGLECZCzech Republi
