A imagem do poder no constitucionalismo Portugues

Abstract

This dissertation, intends to demonstrate that portuguese constitutionalism, besides establishing, in a formal way, the State's organization, also projects upon those who are governed, an Image of legitimacy, efficiency and justice, which persuades them to obey, without contest. In order to prove this reality, the imposition of the constitutional systems, the electoral systems successively adopted by the the groups who catch the Power, as well as the electoral fights and their results, the seat of the power in the constitutional texts and the ideologies they reflect, were analysed, starting from the liberalism. Political reality are revealed through these vectors, demonstrating the insufficiency of one analyses based exclusively in rules. Our research has demonstrated that the majority of the people does not take part in the settlement of the constitutional systems; that the electoral systems are established by those who detain the Power, in order to obtain a social basis of support, passive, often manipulated; that the true seat of the Power does not always stay in the which, according to the constitutional texts, detain the fundamental powers; that the political ideologies rose from the great world-wide political-cultural centers, which are not ever suitable for the portuguese historical-cultural identityAvailable from Fundacao para a Ciencia e a Tecnologia, Servico de Informacao e Documentacao, Av.
