Oxidacao Catalitica do Metanol sobre Molibdatos de Ferro

Abstract

The oxidation of methanol to formaldehyde over Mo-Fe oxides has been studied. The catalysts (Fe_2(MoO_4)xMoO_3), with different atomic ratios Mo/Fe (from 1.5 to 3), were prepared by coprecipitation and sol-gel techniques, and characterised by Bet, atomic absorption, EDX, XRD, FTIR, and RGN (Mossbauer), Furthermore, the catalysts' acidity was studied by TPD of NH_3 and by dehydration/dehydrogenation of i-propanol. The methanol oxidation was studied in a large range of experimental conditions using a conventional flow apparatus with a tubular reactor. Long runs, with and without water in the feed, were also performed, for testing stability.
