Abstract

A new approach to the problem of determination of the load-carrying capacity and breakage of ice cover has been suggested. New models of the ice cover have been proposed and implemented to make it possible to more completely consider the similarity theory requirements at model tests of ships. The means of forecasting the ice-going qualities of the ships have been suggested. The basic principles of the theory of interaction of air-cushion vehicles with the ice cover have been created in the country for the first time. The energy-saving means using the air-cushion vehicle techniques have been developed.
