IMPROVEMENT OF SIMULATION TEST METHODS OF TESTING STEERING GEAR OF VESSELS AND CREATION OF GENERAL-PURPOSE LOAD FEEL UNITS

Abstract

The object of the investigation is acceptance tests of the steering gear of surface vessels of various purpose. The purpose is the reduction in labour content and material expenses associated with the acceptance tests, due to a wider use of simulation test methods. The laws of changing the resulting stock moment depending on the operating conditions of the gear during full-scale and simulated tests have been determined for the first time. A mathematical dependence used for assessing the loads in the gear supports has been obtained. Methods and means designed for the simulation tests of the steering gear and program intended for determination of basic simulation means have been devised.
