ELECTRIC BREAKDOWN OF LONG DISTANCES AT LASER INITIATION AND DYNAMICS OF IONIZATION WAVES

Abstract

The investigation objects are the pulse electric breakdown of the long distances and high-speed ionization waves. The aim is to perform the experimental investigations on the physical nature of the electric discharges directed by a laser and high-speed ionization waves arising at high-voltage pulse breakdown. The physical models of the discharge development along trajectory of the long laser spark and physical models for formation and motion of the high-speed ionization waves in the long discharge tubes at voltage 200 kV have been developed. A perspectivity to apply the ionization waves and dicharges directed by laser for creation of the switches and peakers and to investigate the elementary processes and pumping of the nitrogen laser has been demonstrated.
