Ultrastructure and systematics of flagellates

Abstract

The object of investigation is generalization and theoretical comprehension of the newly acquired data and the information presented in the relevant publications on the ultrastructure of the flagellate forms of protists, formation of new diagnoses of macrotaxones and revision of the protist system. The researchers have demonstrated a new approach to constructing the system of protists which is based on the results of the comparative ultrastructural study of flagellates and disclosed a new system of the genus of flagellates. The modified methods of fixation and treatment of the material have found application in cytology. The obtained results are included in the course of lectures on the zoology of invertebrates at institutes of higher education.
