Energy recuperation of intensive proton beam

Abstract

Intensive ion beams and ion-beam plasma are considered in the paper aiming at the investigation of energy recuperators of intensive proton beams, the effectiveness determination of the direct energy conversion, the problem investigation of the beam transportation in quadrupole magnetic field and beam geometry conversions. As a result the analysis method of the current balance in a recuperator has been developed, the analytical expression of vinimum negative potential on a suppressor in dependence on the beam current density has been obtained. The recuperator of an intensive cylindrical beam with the effectiveness 50%, and current density 2000 mA/sm and the recuperator of sheet beam with the separation of electrons and protons in crossed and magnetic fields have been created and investigated. The paper result be used for the efficiency increase of injector tracts of thermonuclear plants.
