Effects of conversion and absorption of low-frequency electromagnetic waves in nonhomogeneous plasma in the magnetic field

Abstract

The object to be attained is study of the effect of dissipative effects on the dynamics of electromagnetic waves in plasma and nonhomogeneity on parametric excitation of ionic cyclotronic oscillations and nonlinear phenomena in resonance areas. The existence of branches of the surface magnetohydrodynamic waves in plasma with a nonhomogeneous transfer layer has been predicted, their nonlinear dynamics has been studied. The mechanism of heating of local areas of chromosphere of the Sun has been proposed. The new highly nonlinear Alfven waves in the nonhomogeneous plasma have been found. The heating of the nonhomogeneous plasma cylinder with the use of the magnetic pumping by axially nonsymmetrical short-wave fields has been studied. The effect of the strictional nonlinearity on the pumping wave in the areas of local resonances has been studied.
