Development of scientific principles of calculation of stability of layered coal blocks near opencast colliery side

Abstract

In the paper the mechanism of deformation and the terms of limiting balance of the layered coal blocks were investigated with the aim of the development of methods of calculation of stability of the opencast colliery sides. As a result the terms of limiting balance for the above coal blocks were obtained and the engineering methods of calculation of the stability under the terms stressed state of the above coal blocks were developed. The results obtained were introduced into operation.
