Abstract

In the EPK-fix joint project, a universal architecture for electronic product catalogues has been developed, upon which a declarative, formal specification language for such catalogues, epkml, has been phrased. epkml, an SGML instance, clearly separates the different, orthogonal aspects (structure, layout, direction, data base, services) of electronic catalogues. For the elaborated development discipline of 'construction by variants', including the estimation, selection and aggregation of solution elements, a distributed environment of supporting interactive software tools has been realized. The environment implements structured requirement analysis, formal specification construction, partially automatic catalogue generation in JAVA (and HTML) as well as formal testing of a generated electronic product catalogue. The individual tools will be synchronized by a central coordination and inversion management tool utilizing the world-wide-web (www) service of the INTERNET.
