SVM-Fortran is an extension to Fortran 77 which allows the programming of parallel computers with shared virtual memory. Achieving data locality is possible in SVM-Fortran via loop scheduling. The user specifies a scheduling strategy for a loop. The resulting mapping of the scheduling from loop iterations to processors can be stored and reused in loops with similar memory access pattern. In this paper we outline the important parameters for regular loop scheduling strategies and introduce a transformation concept for parallel loops.
