Abstract

For automatic quantitative evaluation and control of pulse field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) a configuration of video camera optical system, computer-based image analysis, PFGE/FJGE-apparatus and power supply is described. Software is presented permitting detection, automatic reading and data processing of low-light and low contrast DNA-gels and of autoradiographs.
