De percepties van volleybaltrainers op de CMV-toplijn, een draagvlakonderzoek onder NVS- en Rayontrainers

By F.B.J. Beijer

Abstract

The Dutch volleyball association (NeVoBo) internationally wants to belong to the top 8 performing countries of the world. To accomplish this, the NeVoBo wants to train more top-class sport directed on younger age. The possibilities to train 9-11 year old volleyball players in top-class sport direction in the implementation of the so called circulation mini volleyball (CMV) had to be researched. For the orientation of this research there has been consultation with several agents of the Dutch volleyball school (NVS) and the regional traineeships (Rayons). The conclusion of these consults was that there is a serious ambivalent view about the possible contents and implementation of the CMV top-class sport line. The objective of this exploring research was to determine the perceptions of coaches regarding the potential of the CMV top-class sport line for 9-11 year old volleyball talents. The perceptions about the influences in talent development and implementation are measured. In this research results are measured by a quantitative questionnaire (86 respondents) and qualitative interviews (5 respondents). From the results of this research it seems that there should be invested in training the youngest volleyball players, by offering training, there where is the need for it. According to the coaches there is not enough basis to set up a centralised CMV top-class sport line in the current NVS concept as long as there is no investment in breadth-class sport of CMV. At this moment the method of the Rayons is not sufficient to stimulate a good flow to the NVS for older ages. To obtain this flow, volleyball agents must work at an univocal method and stronger CMV-organisation. The use of professionals is advisable here. Cooperation and communication between regions and head office is an important point of attention because of an apparent contradiction. There should be an effort to have everyone in the organisation, on club, regional an national level cooperating to offer a united method and structure of training
