Abstract

Una de las constantes del cine histórico mexicano es la leyenda de la Virgen de Guadalupe, que ha sido llevada a la pantalla en varias ocasiones desde los primeros tiempos (Tepeyac, 1917) hasta la actualidad. El modo de presentar el hecho varía según la época en que se rodó la película: reverencial y patriótico entre 1942 y 1960 (La Virgen que forjó una patria, 1942), revisionista a partir de la década de los setenta (Nuevo Mundo, 1976) y de nuevo conservador en la por el momento última aproximación al tema, Guadalupe (2006)One of the constants of Mexican historical cinema is the legend of the Virgin of Guadalupe, which has been brought to the screen several times since the early days (Tepeyac, 1917) until today.
