The future of learning and teaching in next generation learning spaces / Kym Fraser (ed.)

By Kym Fraser

Abstract

The genesis of this book came about from a literature review that I did in 2012 on the topic of next generation learning spaces. The vast majority of the literature focused on the design and evaluation of these spaces while very little research literature discussed the impact of these spaces on pedagogic practice and student learning outcomes. Through this book and with a group of like-minded colleagues from Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States of America, I have sought to begin to redress the imbalance in this literature. With a focus on next generation learning spaces, chapter authors discuss student-related topics such as personalised learning strategies, diverse pictures of learning and learner attributes, and teaching related topics, such as pedagogic frameworks, assessment strategies, inclusive teaching practices and implications for curricula
