Experimental investigation of the performance of a valved pulse tube cryocooler

By XZ Li, P Cheng and CT Hsu

This paper describes a valved double-inlet pulse tube cryocooler with a Gifford-McMahon (GM) compressor unit. The performance results of cryocooler with helium as a working fluid under different working conditions are presented. The lowest temperature of 50 K and the refrigeration capacity of 18.3 W at 80 K were obtained with the charge pressure of 2.3MPa and the working frequency of 6.25 Hz
