Isolation and characterization of Vibrio parahaemolyticus\ud from seafoods along the southwest coast of India

The work was aimed to study the microbial\ud quality of the seafood sold in the domestic markets and incidence\ud of Vibrio parahaemolyticus. Samples comprising of\ud shellfish, finfish, and cephalopodswere collected fromvarious\ud fish markets in and around Cochin. Presumed V. parahaemolyticus\ud were identified by standard biochemical tests, and\ud further confirmed by polymerase chain reaction targeting\ud species-specific tl gene (450 bp)
