Electromagnetic Field Distributions in a Wire Grid Enclosure for RFID Application

Abstract

The electromagnetic field distribution of a wire grid enclosure (WGE) is summarized. Its transmission responses over a range of frequencies are theoretically investigated. The grid is derived from wire elements arranged in uniform rectangular forms of dimension approximately 1/7th the radiation wavelength. Tag antenna performance inside this enclosure is validated with read range measurement
