Abstract

"S 21513 (later SX 27796) Pte. C.J. Ellis 7 M.D. Postal Unit (Formed to take over from civil post office in February 1942.) Training with and left for Darwin with 27th Infantry Battalion (S.A. Scottish Regiment) on 9 Dec. 1941 Arr Winellie 15 Dec. 1941 and transferred to 7 M.D Postal Unit on 17 Dec 1941. (Larrakeyah Barracks) After air raids (19 Feb 1942), formed Field Post Office 065 and took over emergency post office (civil) at Half Way House Daly Street on 23 March 1942."S 21513 (later SX 27796) Private C.J.
