Women in the Czech photogram

Abstract

My bachelor thesis is focused on mapping of the circle of women artists using the photogram technique in the Czech environment. While the artists born on the beginning of the last century (Emila Medková, Běla Kolářová, Eva Fuková) used this newly accepted artistic technique only rarely, for the authors of the next generations ? Gabriela Kolčavová, Ilona Staňková, Jolana Havelková and Jindra Viková ? the experiments on photogram basis became the integral part of their work. Woman photographers and artists differ from their male counterparts namely in their topics that are usually more poetic, fragile and intimate. Very often they relate to their close family circle. In the course of my work I had a few very inspiring and resourceful personal meetings with the artists, or in the case of Emila Medková with the artist?s daughter Eva Kosáková
