Abstract

This lengthy series written entirely in German by Berlin-born art historian Robert Dohme was published by E. Wasmuth in 1892 in Berlin, Germany Each book contains detailed architectural prints, photos, and analyses of buildings constructed in the Baroque and Rococo periods that showcase a grandiose and theatrical take on Roman styles. The books cover buildings from across western Europe, mostly in Germany, and offer valuable statistics about the construction processes. These statistics include dates and costs of construction, individual architects, and square footage. Each volume includes a table of contents, and each volume is broken up into several parts
